Be Your Own Soul Mate

Posted by OM On September - 16 - 2011
We all want to find our soul mate, but we are so busy looking outward and never stop to look inward. We can be our own soul mate, by learning how to love, and learning to love ourselves.

I have watched most of Savonn Champelle’s videos, but just saw this couple days ago. It has a very good message, and hope it can help you too!

Message #1

“…Seeing the light in others and seeing the best in others, and just sharing your love with other people because you’ll never know a small gesture or kind word can go a long way.”

“Be generous with your love. If you feel like there’s something you want to say from your heart to someone, say it, because you’ll never know what a difference it would make.”

Message #2

“…It’s about the energy, it’s about the light coming from within that enhances everything else.”

“You are your own soul mate. Be your own soul mate. Think of all the things you want in a soul mate and from a soul mate, and then be that for yourself. You have to be that for yourself first."

"When you fall in love with you, the world will fall in love with you, the people will fall in love with you and they won’t know why because they’ll see it and they’ll feel it.”

How Yuen Method Helped Me

I mentioned in a couple of my posts about Yuen Method, and today I’d like to explain more on this energy-based modality. This is the first type of energy healing I came across which worked well for me.

Yuen method is a Chinese energy healing technique, which was created by Dr. Kam Yuen. This method offers instant relief from aches and pains, and even at an emotional and mental level to help release our personal struggles. The main tool for Yuen is to have balanced Chi, everything should be balanced and neutral. If our body is too strong or weak to something, that means there’s an imbalance and in the long term will cause more serious problems physically or emotionally. Yuen is used to help correct for neutrality to bring a balance back into our body and mind.

In my case, Yuen method helped me remove layers and layers of issues that slowly became bigger problems in my life as an adult. My practitioner, Peggy, is great at helping me find the root cause of my problems and also a great mentor in guiding me while I’m lost.

I first went to Peggy with a fear of public speaking. Our team had an annual meeting which was my first time to attend. This was exciting for me, but knowing I had to present in front of more than a hundred people was making me sick. At the time I also learned Emotional Freedom Technique, which I also used while I was there to calm myself down. The result was amazing, I not only presented well, I was one of the people in our team that did great and got compliments from both of my boss.

As I had more sessions, what seemed to be a problem in the surface started to become something deeper and more personal. A fear of public speaking linked back to when I was a kid and first moved to US. I found out the root cause was speaking in front of native English speakers because I was made fun of by my English teacher in 8th grade. A feeling of confusion towards my work and this company was something I had control over so I thought if I find another job I’ll be fine, but I’ve done that before and I was still unhappy. It turned out to be me seeking spirituality all this time, but I put all my energy into work and thought it was my career all along.

It is funny how things play out sometime. Through the few years I never had the courage to leave this job, but I finally did it. I left my job few months ago, and went around traveled a bit to clear my head. When I came back home, I was just in time to help take care of my parents. They had some health issues and were in hospital, first my mom then my dad. I became a caretaker for both of them during this time. While I still think about my old job, the people, and how life would be if I was still there, I got an email from my ex-colleague that the boss of our team is leaving the company soon, and there’ll be a big restructure, and our team will be gone in the next few months! I felt that the Universe is re-confirming me that I’m on the right track and shouldn’t look back.

I took a couple of Yuen courses and currently continue working on myself. I feel coming across this energy healing technique and Peggy has been such a great gift. I’ve been guided to walk a new journey and look and experience life with a totally new approach. This is just the beginning for me, but I do hope as I continue and note my experiences and useful techniques I find, it can also help you out there in your healing work.

Forgiving Yourself and the Others

Forgiveness is an essential process we have to learn to experience inner peace. In this post, I have a simple exercise picked out from a book by Arielle Ford called The Soulmate Secret.

This exercise may help overcome past experience and move forward with forgiveness toward that person. I did it and felt great afterwards. I felt love for myself that I can finally let it go, I felt released and free from being locked in this box for a long time.

This steps below will be slightly different, as I’ve added a few minor things which worked well for me. You can do it for past lover, boss, friend, anyone that wronged you from a previous experience which you feel incomplete. You will cut the energetic cords with that person and the previous experience/relationship, and feel a sense of letting go.

You’ll need a pen, stationery, candle, some soothing music, lighter, and something to hold the ashes. Most importantly, you can only forgive a person if you are willing and want to do it. If you’re not ready yet, you can always do this later when you’re ready to forgive.

  1. Set a relaxing mood for yourself, this should take about 30 minutes.
  2. The pen and stationery is for you to write your forgiveness letter. This letter can be as short or long as you want. But ideally should be long enough to include the below points:
    • First things you can think of about what happened that caused you to have this anger
    • Your feelings then and now, also describe it
    • Forgiveness for both you and the other person. Remember, in any relationship, there’s no one person that’s always wrong or right. Perhaps you’ve also done something to contribute the outcome.
    • Write as if you’re talking to the person, tell him/her exactly what you want to say, how you feel, and a sense of closure so that the both of you can move on.
    • This is a letter, so don’t forget to sign it!
  3. Read the letter out loud, and FEEL every word. Feel the forgiveness, the love, and letting go of this person and the past relationship
  4. Close your eyes and meditate on this for a few minutes, let the feelings of the letter linger for a bit. Then imagine an energetic cord connecting you to that person. This cord can be connecting to your stomach, your heart, wherever you feel comfortable. Now imagine, perhaps also with your hand gesture, to cut the energetic cord, so that you’ll no longer be connected to that person. And imagine the cord disappearing after you’ve cut it. Take a deep breath, slowly open your eyes.
  5. Burn the letter to ashes, and feel a sense of letting go and closure as you burn it.

This is a great way to help you clear any blockages these past experiences have on your life today. When you feel less hate and more love, you’re sending a positive frequency to the Universe to attract more positive things and people to you

I hope this post can help you, and the best to all of us trying to forgive, forget, and move on!
